A young thoroughbred race horse, Dewey Square, is one of 24,000 foals born in Kentucky in 2010 and who will soon have to prove his mettle as a race horse. While every thoroughbred owner dreams of their horse making it to the Kentucky Derby, only an elite few will ever make it to the upper echelon of racing. Here, at about 3 months old, Dewey is led out of his stall with his mother, Somethinaboutbetty, at Siena Farm in Paris, Ky.
