Barry Papania, from Georgetown, carried an old airplane propeller back to his car after bringing it to be documented for an aviation archive project in the main terminal at Blue Grass Airport in Lexington in Lexington, Ky., on Saturday, August 11, 2012. The propellor belongs to his mother, Peggy Papania, right, who worked and flew as a pilot at the Cool Meadow airstrip in 1949. Barry Papania's father, Bill, is at left, and his wife Ann is helping his mother. Aviation enthusiasts and the general public brought old postcards and mementos documenting the history of Blue Grass Airport, old Blue Grass Field and the early Lexington airstrips. A videographer and photographer and scanning stations were at the airport to help document oral history stories and mementos. Photo by David Stephenson
