Donald, rescued in 1998, is the alpha male among the 11 chimps living at the Primate Rescue Center in Nicholasville, Ky. Friday Jan. 3, 2014. Donald is known as a gentlemen by his caretakers and is upset by unnecessary violence in the group. His age is unknown, but as he gets older, some of the younger, stronger chimps have begun to challenge him. The Primate Rescue Center is a nationally respected sanctuary housing more than 50 primates, including 11 chimpanzees and attempts to help suffering primates through sanctuary, education and legislative reform.
