Keene Place is the completely renovated Keene Mansion on the Keeneland property. Built in the late 1700s, it is the only place in Fayette County ever visited (in 1805) by General Marquis de Lafayette, Revolutionary War Hero, friend to George Washington, namesake of Fayette county.
