Jenny, who was born at a biomedical research laboratory in New York where she was raised by human caretakers, enjoys playing with colorful play things during a breakfast of fruit and vegetables at the Primate Rescue Center in Nicholasville, Ky. Friday Jan. 3, 2014. Jenny was rescued and has been living at the PRC since 1996. She was taken from her parents as an infant and formed a very tight bond with another female chimp, Pozna, who was also rescued and living at the PRC. She is known now for being very playful but not backing down to the other chimps despite her smaller size. The Primate Rescue Center is a nationally respected sanctuary housing more than 50 primates, including 11 chimpanzees and attempts to help suffering primates through sanctuary, education and legislative reform.
