Jim Harrison, director of the Kentucky Reptile Zoo, displayed a plastic tub of nine canebreak rattlesnakes, also known as timber rattlesnakes, a sample of the 125 venomous snakes and other reptiles being held at the zoo in Slade, Ky., on Friday, July 11, 2008, that were seized following a nearly two-year undercover investigation by the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources. Ten people were arrested from Bell, Harlan, Madison, Letcher and Boone counties. The Kentucky Reptile Zoo will be caring for the snakes, which are considered evidence.
