An old tobacco barn, which succumbed to years of neglect, will be salvaged by Longwood Antique Woods owner George Gatewood from a farm in Woodford County, Ky. on Friday, May 25, 2007. Longwood recycles the wood and will resell as architectural lumber or flooring. Gatewood says he sees a lot of barns deteriorating due to neglect or by farmers who don't use them for tobacco any more. Some barn owners are also taking their barns down because they don't use them any more and don't want to pay the insurance or be liable for someone getting injured.
