Pozna, who was born at a biomedical research laboratory in New York where she was raised by human caretakers, keeps an eye on things from her perch in the play room at the Primate Rescue Center in Nicholasville, Ky. Friday Jan. 3, 2014. Pozna was rescued and has been living at the PRC since 1996. She was taken from her parents as an infant and formed a very tight bond with another female chimp, Jenny, who was also rescued and living at the PRC. She is the youngest of the rescued chimps living at the PRC and still acts like the baby of the group, craving human attention. The Primate Rescue Center is a nationally respected sanctuary housing more than 50 primates, including 11 chimpanzees and attempts to help suffering primates through sanctuary, education and legislative reform.
